Bot Not Responding
If the Metricgram bot does not respond or an automation stops running, check these points.
Step 1: Confirm Which Bot the Group Uses
- If you use the standard bot, check @metric_gram_bot in Telegram.
- If you configured a custom bot, check the bot created with @BotFather and the token saved in Group settings.
Step 2: Verify Bot Permissions
Open the group in Telegram and confirm the bot:
- is listed as an administrator;
- can send messages;
- has the permissions required for the features you use, such as inviting users, pinning messages, managing topics, or changing group info.
Step 3: If the Bot Was Removed or Restricted
Add it back to the group as an administrator. When Telegram sends that update, Metricgram refreshes the group connection. You can then use Refresh groups in Metricgram to update the visible group data.
Step 4: If You Use a Custom Bot
- Verify the token is still active in @BotFather.
- Confirm that custom bot is an administrator in the same group.
- If you regenerated the token, update it in Group settings.
- If you want to return to the standard bot, clear the custom token and save the settings.
Step 5: Still Not Working?
Create a support ticket and include the group name, which bot you use, which automation is failing, and a screenshot of the bot permissions in Telegram.
Important: Do not share bot tokens in public screenshots. If support needs a token, send it only inside a ticket.
