Troubleshooting
Bot Not Responding
Bot Not Responding
If the Metricgram bot is not responding to commands or triggers in your Telegram group, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Step 1: Check Bot Status
- Go to your Metricgram dashboard and check the bot status indicator for your group.
- A green status means the bot is connected and working.
- A red or yellow status indicates a connection issue.
Step 2: Verify Bot Permissions
Open your Telegram group settings and confirm the bot:
- Is listed as an administrator
- Has permissions to read messages, send messages, and delete messages
- Has privacy mode disabled
Step 3: Restart the Connection
- Remove the bot from the Telegram group.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Re-add the bot as an administrator.
- Send a test message in the group.
- Check the Metricgram dashboard to see if the group reconnects.
Step 4: Check for Telegram Outages
Occasionally, Telegram itself may experience downtime. Check Telegram's status or their official announcement channels for any known issues.
Step 5: Custom Bot Token
If you are using a custom bot:
- Verify the bot token has not been revoked in BotFather.
- Try regenerating the token with
/tokenin BotFather and updating it in Metricgram.
