Creating Automatic Replies (Triggers)
Triggers let the bot automatically respond when specific keywords or phrases are detected in your group chat.
Setting Up a Trigger
- Navigate to Automations > Triggers in your group.
- Click "Create Trigger".
- Define the trigger phrase -- the keyword or phrase that activates the response.
- Write the response message that the bot should send.
- Configure matching options:
- Exact match -- the message must contain the exact phrase
- Contains -- the phrase can appear anywhere in the message
- Starts with -- the message must begin with the phrase
- Save and activate.
Advanced Options
- Cooldown period -- prevent the trigger from firing repeatedly (e.g., once every 5 minutes)
- Reply to message -- the bot replies directly to the triggering message instead of sending a new one
- Delete trigger message -- automatically remove the message that activated the trigger
Use Cases
- FAQ automation -- trigger: "pricing" -> response with pricing details
- Rule reminders -- trigger: certain prohibited words -> response with a rules reminder
- Resource sharing -- trigger: "guide" -> response with a link to your guide
Tips
- Start with 5-10 triggers for the most frequently asked questions in your group.
- Review trigger activity regularly to refine phrases and responses.
- Use cooldowns to avoid spam if a popular keyword is mentioned often.
